Post by timaerThanks
I 'm still using Fireworks 2004 MX,I couldn't find what you said that
"Select>Convert Marquee To Path",maybe it's only available in Fireworks 8.I
will try that.
Yes, that feature is new to Fireworks 8, sorry.
Post by timaerWell,I started to learn Fireworks a few days ago,I'm confusing with the
convert between bitmap and path.I used the "Text Tool" to put some character on
the canvas, then ,I'd like to make it a Path,so that I could adjust it more
subtlely. When I used Text->Convert to Path, and then it is still there,Why at
this time,It's still not Path?
I don't understand what you mean by "it's still there". Isn't the text
converted to paths?
Post by timaerAfter I try to use Modify->Combined Path->Join
( My Fireworks is Chinese edition,I hope you not be confused with my
translation) and It worked.
Actually, after fist converting text to paths, Fireworks creates a group
of all the individual letter shapes. If you want the whole word/phrase
or text block to be one composite shape then you indeed have to do what
you did and combine the individual letter shapes. That's normal.
Post by timaerSo,I just wonder ,whether the TEXT is a path, vetor or something else, why is
the "Text Tool"is in the group of Vector Tools ,but what came out is not. What
is my Two step that convert the text to path mean?
Editable text is a type of vector object where individual "glyph"
outlines are defined as vector shapes within the font file. When
converting text to paths Fireworks (and any other vector drawing app)
uses those outlines to create basic Bezier vector shapes within the
application that are no longer recognized as "live" text.
HTH!
