How to reset settings in Fireworks
(too old to reply)

I was making some buttons in Fireworks. When I changed the text for the first
button, a dialog box appeared asking if Fireworks should change the text for
all states. I accidently selected the 'no' option. Now I have to change the
text everytime in all states while making new buttons. Which is annoying.
So my question is, is there a way to reset all the settings in fireworks? Or
in this case, this particular setting?
Thanks in advance.

Trash the preferences file.

Yes. Delete the Fireworks Preferences text. On my machine it's located at:

C:\Documents and Settings\Linda Rathgeber\Application
Data\Macromedia\Fireworks 8\English

The file will rebuild itself the next time you load FW.
